Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio will appeal a federal judge’s ruling that his agency systematically singled out Latinos in its trademark immigration patrols, marking the first finding by a court that the agency racially profiles people.

Tim Casey, the lead attorney representing America’s self-proclaimed toughest sheriff in the case, said an appeal of the finding that the agency racially profiles people was planned in the next 30 days.

The decision by U.S. District Judge Murray Snow in Phoenix backs up years of allegations from Arpaio’s critics who say his officers violate the constitutional rights of Latinos in relying on race in their immigration enforcement. …

The same way that SCOTUS justices can detect stuff like “penumbras” and “emanations”.

It is ludicrous and dangerous to pretend that Hispanics are not overwhelmingly represented within the invader group.

Can someone help me out here? Is profiling illegal? I mean if a rape suspect is identified as albino, shouldn’t the authorities concentrate on albinos? Where in the constitution is there a protection against profiling? Maybe I haven’t been keeping up, but, isn’t profiling just another word for common sense?

The concept of a Sherriff getting busted for “profiling” is just laughable, Profiling people and making other abstractions is how you investiage anything. If the perp is described as Amish, you going to pull over a Harley rider or a black buggy?

if the good sheriff has anything on that liar and fraud Obama that has not been released yet, this ugly federal judge decision means that he should release everything he has on obama as soon as possible.

Kind of like putting out an APB for a 7’ tall Black man in a orange hoody and then barring the cops from specifically looking at tall Black men or orange hoodies.

The solution is simple...stop *everyone* looking to be Hispanic and also stop some folks who don't look Hispanic.Yes,the stops could only be regarding citizenship (that is,if they found pot on me during the stop they couldn't do anything about it) and they can't be for more than a minute or so (assuming there's no credible evidence of illegal presence found).Under those circumstances I'm not sure I'd have a huge problem with be questioned occasionally...*if* the process results in wetbacks being seized and deported...if not imprisoned.

I cross the US/Canada border,by car,on a fairly regular basis.About 98% of those crossings,in both directions, involve me presenting my passport and answering routine questions for about 15 seconds. Those don't bother me a lot.The several that took longer and involved *many* questions *do* bother me,however, mainly because to the best of my knowledge I've never violated US *or* Canadian law.

Yes; that statement was a pile of manure (undefined term “Latino” notwithstanding). That ought to be noted in the appeal; if it makes it to the SCOTUS, it’s a pity that Roberts is such a CINO.

Our local news said police were seeking a potential suspect accused of killing another individual and we should keep on the lookout for someone 5’8” to 5’10”, wearing a white tee shirt and baggy blue jeans with short dark hair. Not one mention of race or skin color. That description would fit about 90% of the males in all of the Houston area.

Just ridiculous.

Probably in the same place that allows abortions and DUI "safety" check points.

OK, had enough? Is it finally time to pull the plug on Federal “Civil Rights” law enforcement? They are incapable of honesty and evenhandedness. “Civil Rights” is a hammer to attack opponents of Federal Power. That’s it. That’s all it is.
