These are the numbers for Canada from 1995. So for the last 20 years you can see how things changed.
It used to be that there were 80k Beavers, 80k Cubs and 35k Scouts.
Now there are 20k beavers, 24k Cubs and only 15k Scouts.
So membership and participation has gone from 200k in 1995 to around 60k now. That’s down to 30 percent. They’ve lost 2/3rds of their core membership in just 15 years.
Leaders were once at 65k, and are now at 27k, just 40 percent of numbers. Kids/leader used to be around 1/3, now it’s 1/2. So for every boy enrolled, they have a half a leader.
I wonder if their corporate level executives are still pulling in the same salary? That is absolutely what this was all about with BSA. Bet it was the same in Canada.
Sound familiar? Our leaders in congress sell us out for pieces of silver every day.
Regardless, excellent information and I believe the numbers will be far worse here.
