Police Firearms unit - cO19 (SCO19)
‘CO19 is Scotland Yard’s specialist firearms unit. This elite cadre of highly-trained police officers are on standby to respond to any armed incident in London. Both men and women can join CO19. The unit trains all other UK armed police officers.
CO19 has around 550 members, including training staff, SFOs and ARV units.’

You must be a night owl. Isn’t it 1 am where you are?
LOL
1.10AM, I fell asleep for the last 4hrs, I am now wide awake.

She was armed with just a Taser as she sat in the drivers seat of the BMW X5 and was only saved when a male colleague sitting in the back made a split-second decision to fire his machine-gun from point blank range through the window.
Even though I myself posted the Mirror link, I wouldnt take what they say as gospel. UK papers are bad when it comes to talking about guns and armed units.
I saw that too.. It was the man behind her with a machine gun that shot through the vehicle windows to take him down. Watching that real time, it was hard to tell what happened it happened so fast.
..and the media loves to hype females as the heroes, even if not true. Jessica Lynch comes to mind. She froze and didn’t fire a shot.
Around 1988 I met a British cop who was attending a religious retreat in the North Carolina mountains.
I got to talking to him, and mentioned their cops not carrying guns. He told me that he actually did carry a Walther PPK but that it was concealed.
I am not sure what unit he belonged to, maybe something like this one but it surprised me. He was also a lay preacher in a Southern Baptist Church.
Just about everything about him was something I would never have guessed.
I guess you’ll be up all night and the next day then.
She needs much more range time. Much more.
They might want to start training on response time.
Actually, they are usually lightning quick, there is some query here as to why they took 20m. Although that is probably more likely down to the news/order getting to them, rather than they being slow to respond.
Consider, that in 1876 when the Jesse James gang tried to rob the bank in Northfield, MN they were met with a hail of bullets from armed citizens and an armed citizen posse chased down and either killed or captured most of the gang members.
I had read 30 mins.
Someday all British cops will be qualified to carry a gun, hopefully, in the meantime they should at least let American tourists carry the same guns that we wear back home.
Seems to have been 9 for the normal police, 20 for armed. It should have been around 9 for both.
I carry a firearm because a cop wont fit in my pocket.
Same thing happened to the Dalton Gang in Coffeyville, Kansas.
They were wiped out by armed citizens.
