In 1988 the AF transferred me from overseas to Tinker AFB in OKC. I have to be honest, Oklahoma was the last place on the face of the earth I wanted to be stationed. Six months after we moved here I realized that this is where I was going to retire. Since then we’ve been through the Bombing, close calls from tornados, hailstorms that require you to replace the roof every 6-8 years, drought and summer heat. But we wouldn’t live anyplace else.

I lived in Lawton for awhile, I never thought of living in OK permanently, only because it never came up, but Oklahoma does grow on you, it seems to be a pretty good state.
