I wonder if Lerner is still going to plead the fifth. She’s stupid if she does. Waiting patiently.
Mr. Chairman, on the advice of my counsel, I respectfully decline to answer based upon my Fifth Amendment constitutional privileges.
...
Could this go in “breaking news” please? Thanks for starting thread.
Why are you pleasing the 5th?
Do you think you've committed a crime or crimes?
Who told you to target Conservatives?
Thank you so much!!!
Lerner is taking the 5th because she's in deep doo-doo. Guilt of serious crimes, crimes that can get her a few years in the federal pen.
Remember, it's not really easy for a former IRS top official, accused of, let's call it "taxpayer abuses" to find a sympathetic jury, let alone an impartial one.
So maybe this is her attempt to get immunity. Issa should giver it to her, assuming she spills EVERYTHING, and names names. IT would lead right into the WH, and possibly to the Oval office.
One problem for Issa, though. The DoJ ( Holder) would have to sign off on the grant of immunity. What are the odds he approves that? ( snicker, snicker...)
More mail...LOL.
Ain't nobody in this administration gonna stand behind you.
Anyone wanna wager me that you’ll hear at least one of the following phrases in the hearing?
“I don’t know!”
“I don’t recall!”
“I don’t remember!”
Issa should have done that already. Whether the AG goes along with it or not, it's a win-win for Issa.
Thanks for the thread and ping.
It’s pretty boggling to look at were we are today as this Administration collapses under its own weight.
Interesting take here on WH counsel as a person of interest
h/t CH
Barry says “there is no ‘there’ there”. Really? On the contrary, there is LOTS of ‘there’ there.
She is stupid if she doesn’t. Don’t you think she knows what is in her best interest legally?
Whoa!
Would be great if an actual FReeper attorney would get on the thread to provide the technicalities around immunity
Shouldn't SecTreas be called in and asked about his knowledge of what could possibly impel Ms Lerner to exercise her Constitutional rights in this matter?
Pleading the fifth just makes her look guilty, so it doesn’t matter either way. We all know what she did, there are records. She better hope the legal advice she’s getting is the best in the country. There are people sitting in prison that wish they had done the opposite of what their lawyer told them to do.
For her it’s all about:
O o o o stayin alive stayin alive
O o o o
Stayin aliiiiiiiiiiah ah ah ive!
