Ham was told by the White House not to send the aid to the trapped men, but Ham decided to disobey and did so anyway, whereupon the White House “called his deputy and had the deputy threaten to relieve Ham of his command.”

Has anyone heard reasons why General Ham seems to have disappeared? Since he retired, it would seem that he's free to testify with no worries that it could damage promotion possibilities.

He would be a key witness, but almost nothing is said about him one way or the other.
