Senior White House officials, including Chief of Staff Denis McDonough, learned last month about a review by the Treasury Departments inspector general into whether the Internal Revenue Service targeted conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status, but they did not inform President Obama, the White House said Monday.
The acknowledgement is the White Houses latest disclosure in a continual release of details concerning the extent to which White House officials knew of the IGs findings that IRS officials engaged in the inappropriate targeting of conservative non-profits for heightened scrutiny. Previously, the White House said counsel Kathryn Ruemmler did not learn about the final results of the investigation until the week of April 22nd, and had not disclosed that McDonough and other aides had also been told about the investigation. On Monday, Carney said a member of Ruemmlers staff learned of the probe the week of April 16, Ruemmler learned of it on April 24th and after that point she informed the chief of staff and other aides about the probes findings.

They didn’t tell him because he ALREADY KNEW.
The question is not whether the White House new of the probe. The question is whether they knew of or directed the targeting practice.
So, the President is just a figurehead after all with no input and no knowledge of what goes on in the Excutive Branch.
We could replace him with a parrot at this rate.
No wonder he gaffs so badly if the teleprompter is not present.
um... sure
OK, then what else aren’t they telling him?
This implies that there are many things about which he is not informed.
Didn’t have to tell him what he already knew and supported.
just hope there’s never a Nuclear attack ,Obama would find out about it when he goes to the golf course and finds it burnt to a crisp
Yup. It was being done per Obama’s orders. “They bring a knife, we’ll bring the IRS!”
Then I guess this means Obama will be firing them and if illegal, seeking their prosecution.
(paraphrasing, of course) But it’s what he meant.
Couldn’t disrupt his golf game with bad news.
Yeah, right.
Uh-huh.
OK......
Amazing. This know-it-all knows better than Wall Street when it comes to financial regulation, better than the bankruptcy code when dealing with the GM restructuring, better than Congress when dealing with Libya, and better than healthcare professionals, the insurance industry, and the majority of Americans when it comes to healthcare. There is NEVER time to debate ANYTHING, or even to read the laws that Mr. know-it-all assures us MUST be passed. But we must trust his judgement, because he knows more about everything than anyone else.
Except, of course, when his own Administration does something. Then he knows nothing at all. He know nothing about Fast & Furious, nothing about Benghazi, nothing about the IRS and nothing about the DOJ’s AP scandal.
Amazing, isn’t it? He knows EVERYTHING that is not his business, and NOTHING that is.
LOL! Sure sounds like the beginnings of Watergate to me.
Yeah, right!
