I think I heard on the news that they need some sort of heavy duty equipment to deal with the debris. They may also have to do somesort of shoring up to allow rescue workers in. They won’t allow the rescue workers in until they are kinda sure it is safe is a general rule I think.

Of course that is the logical way - but if I were there I would dive into any hole on the off chance of saving a kid.

Well, that does happen sometimes. They will likely be reprimanded if they do. They have to remember that they can’t help anyone if they fall victim to falling debris too.
