Tornado warnings up in Oklahoma. Watches in TX, OK, KS, MO, far NW Arkansas.
Tornados in Oklahoma are not unusual, that’s for sure. However, this is the 3rd major tornado to hit Moore in 14 years. This one took basically the same path as the devastating one on May 3, 1999.
For all who wondered about evacuation; tornado hit school at 3:35 pm. School dismisses at 3:30. Apparently people in charge at school “worked” their emergency plan. That is why there was no dismissal.

With this kind of destruction, I’m thinking dig a hole, lie down in it and pull something hard over you to take blows if something hits that spot.
I would also look for a culvert to crawl into.

The storms are west and southwest of DFW now. Google Fort Worth National weather station. They will have latest.

Interviewed a Briarwood teacher. All kids safe. Cuts and bruises, one head injury, but nothing severe.

You must be aware of the funnel sucking you out of a hole. In 1999 2 sought shelter under an interstate underpass. They got sucked out and dropped .25-.5 miles away.
i’M LISTENING to something and the older kids are okay. The third graders were in a hallway that was destroyed. Parents are just arriving. 5-6 grades were moved to a church before the tornado.
They are still looking for the younger kids.

They re-capped the teacher. She said students were in hallway in disaster drill. Some were under desks.
I’m confident this will be looked at for lessons, and for glitches, in their plan.
Yes - Plaza Tower’s school. Looking for 75 kids (younger ones) that sheltered at the school.
