Have you ever seen the movie? It’s quite eye-opening for 1959. It explains how Hollywood helped create the Sixties.

Yes, I did. It was quite risque for the time. Good little movie though.

When I watch it now, it seems so naive. :)

You can see Hollywood planting the memes necessary to undermine the current morality. There is a lot of propaganda in that film.

Jackie deShannon had written this tune in 1973 as a fast ragtime number. Kim Carnes slowed it down and gave it a haunting, mystical, electronic sound. I didn’t like it all that much until I heard it while – ahem, cough, cough! – stoned one night. Suddenly it all made sense, and I rank it as one of the greatest recordings of the Eighties.

Kim Carnes: ‘Bette Davis Eyes”

And so we end one week of music history 32 years ago. See you tomorrow night! Cue the Rockumentary theme!

San Remo Golden Strings: “Festival Time”

It is a good company...but I have to be careful to stay within guidelines. I’d hate to lose my seniority.

I have a doctor’s appointment on Monday. Maybe by then, I’ll be better. I have a friend who had it for 5 weeks, and I’m on my way to that. Ugh!
