George W. Madison, the U.S. Treasury’s general counsel, is leaving the position on June 1.
Christopher Meade, the department’s principal deputy general counsel, will become acting general counsel, a Treasury official confirmed today. The official declined to be identified because the information wasn’t released publicly. Meade, 43, is a former partner at Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale & Dorr LLP.
