While the Justice Department has started an investigation into whether the Internal Revenue Service broke any laws by targeting conservative groups for heightened scrutiny, critics of the Obama administration will likely continue their call for a special counsel.

The DOI(njustice) cannot be trusted to investigate anything. The corruption is deep, broad and comprehensive throughout this administration.

This screams for the appointment of a Special Prosecutor. Reminds me of hysterical liberals proclaiming 'Fitzmas'. Maybe Christian Adams would be a good appointee. He knows firsthand of all the corruption within the DOJ.

The Law Defends Plunder

But it does not always do this. Sometimes the law defends plunder and participates in it. Thus the beneficiaries are spared the shame, danger, and scruple which their acts would otherwise involve. Sometimes the law places the whole apparatus of judges, police, prisons, and gendarmes at the service of the plunderers, and treats the victim — when he defends himself — as a criminal. In short, there is a legal plunder, and it is of this, no doubt, that Mr. de Montalembert speaks.

This legal plunder may be only an isolated stain among the legislative measures of the people. If so, it is best to wipe it out with a minimum of speeches and denunciations — and in spite of the uproar of the vested interests.

How to Identify Legal Plunder

But how is this legal plunder to be identified? Quite simply. See if the law takes from some persons what belongs to them, and gives it to other persons to whom it does not belong. See if the law benefits one citizen at the expense of another by doing what the citizen himself cannot do without committing a crime.

Then abolish this law without delay, for it is not only an evil itself, but also it is a fertile source for further evils because it invites reprisals. If such a law — which may be an isolated case — is not abolished immediately, it will spread, multiply, and develop into a system.

end excerpts from “The Law” - Frederic Bastiat 1801-1850

TREASON - “acting”/appointed/entrenched unaccountable bureaucrats (socialists) elevating to TOTALITARIAN tactics for the powers that be when the time is right.

DISMANTLE the IRS.

TREASON - continuous, PRE-MEDITATED, agenda-driven, in-your-face, media-complicit, AGENCY-ABETTED, REPRESENTATIVE-DIRECTED, ongoing...

DEPOPULATE totalitarians from the body politic. DISMANTLE their system.

The special prosecutor law expired. With a man “on the side of the angels” like Obama in office, it was deemed unnecessary. :)

Geez. I wonder what happened? When Scooter Libby used the same line as eric holder did, guess what. Didn’t work out for scooter to well did it? Even when “dick” armitage admitted that it was he who put the plame where it belonged. Too bad Scooter. You really should have kept a journal of what you had for dinner 4 years 3 months and 5 days ago. As for our boy eric, “I forgot.” seems to be as good as it gets. Weird huh?

Since Holder claimed “recusal” how can he get involved in the decision to appoint Special Counsel. Isn’t that a bigger Conflict of Interest than the matter itself?

You really want a Special Counsel? Obama’s DoJ will appoint a left-wing hack to lead it. The story will then go away, for a long time. Nobody in Congress or anywhere else will be allowed to pursue the matter further (”interfere in an ongoing investigation”).

Then, three or four years from now, the Special Counsel will quietly release his findings. It will be a whitewash; you will be outraged; and it will be too late to do anything more about it at that point.

The only way to get the information out now, so the public gets the information in time for it to matter for next year’s elections and 2016, is for the House to hold hearings.

In another thread House leader and Ways and Means Chairman Dave Camp, said the scandal hasn't reached the level where a special prosecutor is warranted.

The question arises whether Republican committee chairmen want a full investigation or would rather have their 15 minutes of fame. Does this explain why John Boehner will not set up a special committee to investigate Benghazi?
