“But if Mitt Romney really did pay no income taxes for ten years, he had no business running for president, so I assumed Harry Reid didn’t know what he was talking about...but if the RNC did believe Reid and supported Romney anyway they’re a bigger problem than anybody dreamed.”
if Romney hadn’t paid his taxes for 10 years, the IRS would have been all over him with audits based on the recent revelations regarding how the IRS has behaved toward conservative groups applying for tax exempt status before the 2012 elections. why would the RNC believe anything Hoary Reid had to say?
“Why doesnt he sue Reid? Even if nothing comes from it and Reid is never put under oath, hell have to at least waste money on legal representation.Romney is too cowardly to pursue this as he didnt bother during the election.”
i may be wrong, but since Reid made these accusations on the Senate floor, i believe he has immunity from any sort of legal action regarding what he says in that chamber.
That is probably true. But when do the accusations become actionable if, as we’ve seen, there are illegal activities that could have contributed to Reid’s statement?
Wouldn’t that make Senator Reid an accessory to a felony?
