It sounds as though the times is begging obama for a reason - any reason - to justify the spying. And than all will be forgiven.
Very little hope that this will break the romance between obama and the press. He can offer a generic apology, throw one or two tril at the media, and, voila! they support his campaign for a third term.
Those on the right claiming this is the end for obama need to slow down and take a breath. Nothing good will redound to the right from this dog and pony show; if anything, the saddened leftists will just vote for someone even farther to the left - if not obama - who will promise them what they want.
