What I find even more insidious than the cliche comment is this:

In other words, he wants to take the unique, amazing American spirit and "institutionalize" it in a framework working for the "common good" which would, of course, utterly destroy it (which is clearly his intent).

Come on, cut the guy some slack. All he wants is the Workers of the World to Unite in a 5-year Plan to give America a Great Leap Forward into a New Deal that Fundamentally Transform the United States of America.

Yes, that was the aspect that jumped out at me, too. His job is to "create a framework where everybody is working together," in other words, top-down central command over every aspect of life.
Reminded me of his continuing usage of the word "harness" when discussing his plans for Americans: Without the leather straps we would be free to go our own way.
