I don’t want the commissioner to resign.
I want him to fire every single person that either participated in this, or knew about it and didn’t object.
Then, he can resign.
Making him the fall guy lets those above him get away with the crime. The Administration is busy building a wall between IRS and the WH.
NOBODY in government does anything without the approval of higher ups. Lower level people just don’t decide to do things on their own. The most trivial of memos is reviewed ad nauseaum and run through an a long approval chain.
Federal employees are cautious by nature, which is one of the reasons they work in government. It suits them. IRS employees are no exception.

*******
Unfortunately, it is nearly impossible to fire anyone in the federal government. No heads will roll in IRS for this.
This was not restricted to just one or two individuals, as Team Obama has tried to claim.
Those ‘agents’ needed supervisory permission to develop the various long forms and questionaires that ‘agents’ used to gather information. Those forms and questionaires were relatively extensive.
No, this was an organized/supervised effort and it probably involved many employed by the IRS, and possibly even groups of employees in several IRS locations.
This is not an isolated incident involving only a very few.
That would probably be the majority of them. Several were involved and they told others and those told others and so on and so on.
EVERYONE of these people are complicit in trying to cover up this criminal organization. They should be hung in public!
Levin just broke that the IRS announced about 45 minutes ago that the director knew about it and knew what going on. He must have approved of it? He will be gone by weeks end.
