Seriously, I have seen guys scrambled without any paper work within 30 mins to head to Libya or any damn place you wish.

From what I have heard from some folks I trust, General Ham did exactly that and then was told to stand down. It is key to find out what decisions were made during that first hour after learning of the attack. What was set in motion?

Regarding the question of whether we could have mobilized some help, I find it strange that planes were in the sky immediately following the 9-11 attack, but it would have taken too long to do anything to help the Benghazi victims. Are we really to assume if Clinton was in trouble while over there NOTHING would be done? That our forces are not prepared to act immediately if outside the continental US? I am not buying the nothing could be done BS.

Someone on the Defense Appropriations Committee needs to challenge this at budget time. “We paid for this capability and yet when the time came our policymakers stood down. Why should we keep paying for it?”

I don’t have any memorable quotes handy, but Alas_Babylon! will post the transcripts later, and you will be amazed.

Once the gunfire broke out and we have guys on rooftops lasering targets it’s military, end of story.

You mean it should have been. It definitely didn’t turn out that way. That’s why the story doesn’t end.

It is total BS, hogwash, and it is up to taxpayers to call them out on this. Your money should have been spent trying to save those two former Seals under fire and it wasn’t. Why not? If we’re not gonna get the truth about it, then we need to get our money back.

There was no RAPID RESPONSE that could have saved the lives of the Amb and Smith. A team was sent from Tripoli around midnight. It didn't get out of the Benghazi airport for over four hours. Doherty was one of the members on that flight and he was killed at the annex.

I agree the decision was made by Obama and it was political. We don't know why the wheels were not set in motion to send help. Panetta made the lame excuse that you don't send troops in if you don't know the situation on the ground. This is ludicrous especially since they had a drone over the scene for hours. And you send troops into harms way regardless when it comes to a rescue mission like this one. Doherty and his team went in without knowing the situation on the ground.

Dennis is a very smart guy. Was the boy Mayor of Cleveland.

One thing is certain: He is honest (even tho he may be nuts much of the time).

One quit and the other should be put under oath again with an eye towards firing him. I believe that if he told the whole truth Dempsey would testify that Obama told them to “do what you have to do but whatever you do keep me out of it”.

One of the many reasons Obama should step down as CIC. His incompetence and pathological political agenda got people killed. He could have tried to save them but doing so might have cost him an election. Then, as if it wasn’t bad enough, in the presnece of the coffins, he told the grieving family members that it was all someone else’s fault, a filmmaker in Hollywood. Then at the UN, he blamed it on- and apologized for the First Amendment! Here’s hoping Obama enjoys his time in Hell. It’ll last an ETERNITY.

I think I’d rather keep Issa (”Isa” means “Jesus” in Arabic) in charge of the committee, and not go for a select committee.

There are four other committees involved in this incident. It will be chaos without a select committee. I support Cong Wolf's effort to get a select committee so it can better focus on the issue and subpoena whomever it wants. He has over 150 sponsors now and the numbers are increasing. Let Issa head it.

You don’t put people in that situation period. If the host government cannot protect you, then you shouldn’t be there, a contingency plan not withstanding.

I mean, such a simple concept.

Countries close embassies for various dangers all the time; even the USA does it once in a while.

But they left Stevens there so okay, maybe there was an arms running operation...gun running operations have been around since Reagan at least. But they couldn't give the guy some more security? Couple of marines stand guard?

I am so incensed by all of this, this flipping the bird to American citizens....and the IRS!

I got thoughts on all of it.

I'm sitting here kind of bored

So let me get the prose flowing....I will leave for now with one thought...

Yesterday I sang at something called "The Rite of Making the Definitive Promise". In a nut shell, this is when a woman, married or not, single or not, kids or not....becomes....ahem....a nun.

So yeah, I sang at this ceremony and it was cool. But one word...a word that EVEN I DID NOT KNOW....!!!

>>>> DISCALCED >>>>>>>.

Do not look it up, that would be cheating.

I will give you a hint....this is the "Secular Order of Discalced Carmelites" and neither of the two candidates was DISCALCED.

Next.....what the Republicans should do, step by step, about Benghazi.

Amen to all of that. I still want Panetta, Dempsey, Petraeus, Ham, and that LTC who was told not to board that plane from Tripoli grilled under oath by every committee the GOP House can muster until one of two things happens. Either they fess up and put the blame where it belongs or they can no longer keep their lies straight and they go to jail ala Scooter Libby.

I agree that no rapid response would have saved the diplos. But Obama could NOT HAVE KNOWN THAT when informed of the attack. A real American president goes in as fast as possible and saves the second-guessing for the after-action reports. You don’t think, you just go. It’s your job. It’s why you have a military.

"Many of us have been disappointed in Rubio. But, do we really want to Mitt him now when we have no other feasible candidate in the wings? Is that a good wining strategy?"

Rubio is on my list of top 100 choices for 2016 -- but there are 99 others. If he can't stand up to pointed questions from us, the 'rats and MSM will eat him alive in 2016.

Agree completely. Issa should works his way up the food chain, make it clear that blame will go to lesser lights until the truth comes out.
