The author seems oblivious to the idea that pharmaceutical companies might price their products according to market forces, rather than the idea that insurers (meaning the consumers who are actually picking up the tab for the drugs) should just open their checkbooks. I doubt those drugs are priced so high in Canada and Mexico.
We pay more for health care (and education, too) than any other country on the planet with results that are mediocre at best.
