Thank You, Dear FRiend.
Lynn-DAH and I went to TWO Dog Parks today, and a Birthday party.
We let her have a piece of cheese at the p[arty and she was a big hit with the ladies.
We are now experiencing violent storms here.
I think your violent storm is coming my way.
Prayers for our troops, veterans, families, allies, friends, and Canteeners
for a safe and peaceful week ahead.
He Who blessed our forefathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob - may He bless the fighters of the Israel Defense Force, who stand guard over our land and the cities of our G-d from the border of the Lebanon to the desert of Egypt, and from the Great Sea unto the approach of the Aravah, on the land, in the air, and on the sea.
May HASHEM cause the enemies who rise up against us to be struck down before them. May the Holy One, Blessed is He, preserve and rescue our fighting men from every trouble and distress and from every plague and illness, and may He send blessing and success in their every endeavor.
May He lead our enemies under their sway and may He grant them salvation and crown them with victory. And may there be fulfilled for them the verse: For it is Hashem, your G-d, Who goes with you to battle your enemies for you to save you.
G-d bless and keep your children safe, Alouette.
oooops...SORRY!
Not your fault.
Happy Mother’s Day to all freepers. I’m busy getting ready to serve Irish Tea tomorrow afternoon for Mom and the whole famdamily. All those little tea sandwiches are a pain to make but fun to eat along with my orange scones with clotted cream and raspberry preserves and of course potato soup and all the other little fruit and cookie goodies.
Wounded Warriors had stands set up outside Albertson’s today. I give to them so often, I had to tell the guy “I gave at the office.” What I didn’t tell him was that I was so flat broke, I only had .23 cents in my purse.
I am ashamed.
I know, but I am sad that you have to put up with it! :-)
My balcony is all flooded again. I hope I lifted up the rugs in time. Grrrr.
What a beautiful woman! You can see how proud she was of you...
I’ll have to put towels on the window sills when it hits. They put these condos up in 2005 at the height of the bubble, and they did a shoddy job with the windows. Rain itself isn’t a problem, but just add strong winds, and everything leaks. It’s an annoyance.
Stopping by to say Happy Mothers Day to all!
May God’s goodness rest on each one....and also the families whose mothers are not with them now.
Happy Mother's Day to you!
And a Blessed Lord's Day to you and yours.
Thanks, Fiji....love Vera Lynn.
Great Mother’s Day tunes.
When I was a pastor, I served many women who were moms. I called on them in the hospital and rejoiced with them for their precious babies who had come into the world. I counseled with anxious mothers and tried to assure them that God was watching over their rebellious teenagers. I stood with mothers at the bedside of injured or ill children and felt their pain. And I cried with them in their grief when their son or daughter died.
Mary, the mother of Jesus, also experienced times of joy and sorrow. What joy she must have felt when the Christ-child was born! (Luke 2:7). What excitement when the shepherds and later the wise men came to worship Him (vv.8-20; Matt. 2:1-12). What uneasiness when Simeon prophesied that a sword would pierce her soul (Luke 2:35). And what heart-wrenching grief as Mary watched her Son dying on the cross! (John 19:25-30). But her seasons of being a mother didnt end with that terrible scene. She rejoiced that He rose from the grave.
Mothers, and all of us for that matter, experience many great joys and intense sorrows. But when we submit our lives to the Lord, every season of life can serve His eternal purposes.
Read: Luke 2:6-7,25-35
Yes...the balcony is similar. It juts out, like a bay window, which is quite nice and stylish, but that makes the roof overhang useless. Then add strong wind and it’s a problem.
My building was constructed in the 80’s before Hurricane Andrew.
The good thing is that it survived Andrew.
The bad thing is that it is built to the old codes.
Thanks, Kathy! It helps to hear it. As a military wife, widow, mom and grandmom, the Wounded Warrior project is dear to my heart.
I do what I can and help where and when I can.
The MILITARY RULES!!! God bless them all!
And a Blessed Lord's Day to you and yours.
