The brother of a top Obama administration official is also the president of CBS News, and the network may be days away from dropping one of its top investigative reporters for covering the administrations scandals too aggressively.
CBS News executives have reportedly expressed frustration with their own reporter, Sharyl Attkisson, who has steadily covered the Obama administrations handling of the Benghazi terrorist attack in Libya since late last year.
Network sources told Politico Wednesday that CBS executives feel Attkissons Benghazi coverage is bordering on advocacy, and Attkisson cant get some of her stories on the air.
Attkisson, who is in talks to leave the network before her contract expires, has been attempting to figure out who changed the Benghazi talking points for more than five months.
We still dont know who changed talking points but have had at least 4 diff explanations so far, Attkisson tweeted on November 27, 2012.
But on Friday, ABC News reported that the Benghazi talking points went through 12 revisions before they were used on the public. The White House was intimately involved in that process, ABC reported, and the talking points were scrubbed free of their original references to a terror attack.

Back in the USSR...
If this is true then CBS’ broadcasting license needs to be investigated and pulled. Covering up crimes like this violates their status as the “Fourth Estate” and therefore they are properly classified as a propaganda arm of a criminal administration.
The good-ole boy system is alive an well. If it were me, I would be hammering at the issue, because it reflects upon my family-member working for the idiots.
That would be the only way to protect the family-member from getting the blame, by exposing who was really in charge.
If the family-member were the individual responsible, I would be the one to destroy his credibility because of the damage done the larger family.
Can they still be called a ‘news organization?’
You can't make this stuff up.......
Keeping it all in “The Family”. It’s the Chicago way.
I doubt this is going to happen with ABC now on the case. If anything, the story is likely to become a media feeding frenzy, in the best sense of the phrase.
Disgraceful.
Twenty years ago networks took precautions to keep people who were related through marriage or as siblings out of roles where this could happen.
Today the big news nets are so in the Obama camp they don’t even pretend that appearances count anymore...they just don’t care what it looks like...as long as they get their money and advance their ideology.
“...CBS broadcasting license needs to be investigated and pulled.”
Yeah,, and what executive branch of govt is going to do that? FCC? Maybe there should be pressure on CBS and its parent company’s shareholders and/or advertisers.
Nepotism and incestuous relationships at the highest levels of U.S. govt is worse than aristocratic Old Europe.
This was predicted by FREEPERS at least a week ago.
They say 'life imitates art', and music is art. Even if it's 40 year old music.
Well... they got the right man for the job.
“Truth is not allowed comrade.”
Ummm Dan Rather, George Bush, Tx Nat’l Guard isn’t advocacy?
So liberals are saying this is how the Koch brothers would act if they bought out the LA Times? Like liberals do to suppress news they don’t like?
‘propaganda arm of a criminal administration.’
What is breathtaking about this whole episode is that the administration really did believe that they were free to make up any kind of story that would deflect blame away from the administration and that everyone would just eat it up.
This administration is not in America’s best interest.

Dont worry, CBS, the rest of your coverage is nowhere near bordering on advocacy - it is so deep into advocacy that the border with objectivity is nowhere in sight.People of the same trade seldom meet together, even for merriment and diversion, but the conversation ends in a conspiracy against the public, or in some contrivance to raise prices. It is impossible indeed to prevent such meetings, by any law which either could be executed, or would be consistent with liberty and justice. But though the law cannot hinder people of the same trade from sometimes assembling together, it ought to do nothing to facilitate such assemblies; much less to render them necessary. - Adam Smith, Wealth of Nations (Book I, Ch 10)The Associated Press is a virtual meeting of people of the trade of journalism. The AP newswire has been in continual operation since before the Civil War. After a century and a half of association, going along and getting along is so ingrained in the members of the AP that it is undoubtedly a novel thought to them when I point out that we are supposed to have independent presses, not a single press association which decides what is objective (namely itself) and what is not (namely, anyone who does not go along and get along with the journalism consensus that journalism and criticism are higher forms of public service than actually getting necessary things done). The principle of socialism really is not government ownership of the means of production. The central principle of socialism is the credit belongs to the critic, not to the man striving in the arena. The central principle of socialism is PR.
FOX will pick that reporter up...
