White House Meets Privately with Press to Discuss Benghazi--before the regular press meeting....
Breitbart ^ | 10 May 2013 | Ben Shapiro

In the White House’s latest efforts at transparency, the administration announced to reporters that it would brief reporters on the latest shocking developments about the Benghazi situation … behind closed doors. Politico reports that the meeting started at approximately 12:45 PM ET, and that it moved the normal press briefing to 1:45 PM ET. Jay Carney, White House press secretary, did not comment on whether the meeting took place.

Politico reports:

The off-the-record session was announced to reporters in the wake of an ABC News report showing that White House and State Dept. officials were involved in revising the now-discredited CIA talking points about the attack on Benghazi.

The administration routinely exerts pressure on reporters it feels are not kind enough in their coverage. Reporters like Cheryl Attkisson of CBS News have felt the hand of their bosses for “wading dangerously close to advocacy” with regard to Benghazi. No doubt this “off-the-record” meeting was designed to get all the president’s horses and all the president’s men to put the Benghazi humpty dumpty together again.

UPDATE: Reporters not invited to the off-the-record briefing are reportedly incredibly unhappy about it:

I had a great-great-grandmother who was born in Ireland and was a young child when the famine began. I'm not sure when they came to the US. Supposedly she was born in Dublin but I'm not sure if that is trustworthy--if they came from a village or small town near Dublin that might have been remembered as "Dublin." The surname was O'Brien so there are lots of other families with the same name coming about the same time.

I was in Dublin once and was told you had to go to each parish to ask to look at the registers--and Dublin had over 300,000 people at the time of the famine. I figured it would take too much time--and maybe she wasn't actually born in Dublin. My grandmother, her granddaughter, was alive at the time and would have been delighted if I could have found something.

I was in Dublin once for my birthday, more or less passed out in a Queen Ann chair in the lobby of the hotel. I had a lot more fun in villages and towns (particularly Clonmel).

Given your ancestors comes from Dublin, you may be able to track down readily easily.

While I’m reluctant to state it here, but my surname is ‘Fitzpatrick’. One of only two ‘Fitz’ prefix surname to predate the Norman invasion. My ancestors come from near Cavan Town. There is some controversy about this, but in the original Gaelic, Mac Giolla Phádraig (anglicized ‘Fitzpatrick’), means sons of the servants of Saint Patrick.

My grandmother was about 27 when her immigrant grandmother died but apparently she never questioned her about her early life or her family. Later that was the part of her ancestry she was most interested in (she was only one-quarter Irish). At least I have the exact date of birth of my great-great-grandmother--to distinguish her from all the other Mary O'Briens of the time.

When I visited Ireland it was before online sources--perhaps some records can be searched more quickly now. Of course a lot were destroyed by the IRA in 1922.

Completely agree. Kennedy was killed as the result of a conspiracy. He was set up by Johnson...there is no doubt any longer. As the years go by and we learn more, we know that LBJ was headed to prison as a result of the Bobby Baker investigation...Johnson was also off the ticket in ‘64. He had to have Kennedy murdered to save himself...and he did.

The proof is in the media’s total unconcern for the truth. They have covered and lied for fifty years. Don’t expect it to change. Thank goodness for the internet...we don’t have to take the MSM’s big lies anymore.
