A few interesting points from the article ... reading between the lines:

Considering past actions of the government, like sending armanents to a now-hostile Egypt, is it possible that the US government is now arming Islamic insurgents with bullets?

They can’t really store the number of bullets they intend to buy.

No way gun ownership is going down — maybe, in the Northeast, but not in the South. I personally know 10 people at work who have bought their first gun/s in the last year.

I went to the Nation’s Gun Show (been going for more than a decade) right after Newtown. .45 and 9mm prices were UNCHANGED from a few months earlier.

Can anybody tell me what to expect when I go again in early June?

How could prices and supplies be going crazy with no bullet bans out there, and even meek and weak gun laws are shot down?

Household gun ownership has declined from 50 percent to 34 percent ... meaning that there are still an incredible number of stupid people who will admit to a stranger over the phone that they own a gun which can be stolen or confiscated.

Meaning that one third of those who used to admit ownership of firearms now consider that an imprudent action. Ask yourself what percentage of those who admit to owning firearms would actively resits tyranny and what percentage of gun owners who will not admit ownership would resist. Almost regardless of the fractions chosen for each, the total numbers are quite reassuring.

I have read that Homeland Security is buying up as much .45 Long Colt and 30-30 Winchester as they can get.

Since when does Homeland Security use Colt Single Action revolvers or lever action rifles?

Some of the manufactures may be avoiding expensive expansion for the same reasons you pointed out.

A lot of people are making predictions about things getting better in a “few” months, but there is absolutely no reason to believe that. There isn't anything to base that on. I expect things to get worse, because sooner or later they will have another murder to exploit. It seemed things were getting a little better before the Boston Islamic terrorist attacks, but I can't find much lately.

I hope every patriot is able get the supplies they need. It's good to have at least one other cache if possible, but that's not something plausible for many who are doing all they can to get their primary supplies in order. It's pathetic that we can't stop the enormous DHS purchases. They have demonized themselves, and intentionally caused legitimate reasons for distrust and suspicion, in what appears to be an attempt to incite and provoke patriots into making a stupid move for them to crack down on. That's what it looks like to me anyway

I have components for a lot of reloads, but even so, I have cut back on practice because it is very difficult to replenish the supplies. I was lucky enough to get a big order of components filled when I saw the loaded ammo disappearing.

We are not even shooting the 9mm autos because we lose too much brass in the grass.
