I think during Vietnam they did.

The Air Force has never offered two year enlistments.

The Air Force enlistment during Vietnam was 4 years. They have never offered 2 year enlistments to my knowledge. If this "veteran" served 2 years in the Air Force she either got a Bad Conduct Discharge or a Dishonorable Discharge.

You cannot be buried in a National Cemetary unless you are a veteran or the spouse of a veteran. Remember when Clinton tried to sell a plot in Arlington? He quickly backed down on that idea.

No, they didn’t. I was in the USAF during Vietnam, and the enlistment was four years. The only service that had a two year hitch was the Army with draftees.

Nope, Navy and Air Force enlistments were definitely both for four years during Vietnam. Draftees served two years active but I believe that only the Army had three year enlistments during that time. (Sorry, I'm not 100% certain on that last item. I joined the Navy.)

The Marines and Army used to do two year enlistments during Vietnam.

I did a little googling and while I haven’t verified it yet, it seems that during the last decade, perhaps all the services had two year enlistments, even the navy.

“”Updated February 24, 2011
Beginning in October, 1 percent of new fiscal 2004 Air Force enlisted accessions, or about 370 recruits, will be able to sign up for a 15-month enlistment, as part of the National Call to Service program.””

I was in the Air Force for 20 years. I came in during Vietnam, (1967 to 1987) and 2 year enlistments were never offered at any time during my career.

I think you are wrong...
My brother served the USAF in 1957 and it was four years..NOT two years...

When we had the Draft in this country you were to serve two years in the US Army...my husband was drafted, I recall it well...we were married just four months!!!!

USAF utilized the draft in the early 60’s when they didn’t meet their recruiting quotas. Draftees served two years. Enlistment during that period was 4 years.
