Special ops halted from responding to Benghazi attacks, U.S. diplomat says (WashPost)

As the weakly protected U.S. diplomatic compound in eastern Libya came under attack the night of Sept. 11, 2012, the deputy head of the embassy in Tripoli 600 miles away sought in vain to get the Pentagon to scramble fighter jets over Benghazi in a show of force that might have averted a second attack on a nearby CIA complex.

Hours later, according to excerpts of the account by the U.S. diplomat, Gregory Hicks, American officials in the Libyan capital sought permission to deploy four U.S. special operations troops to Benghazi aboard a Libyan military aircraft early the next morning. They were told to stand down.

Congressional investigators released a partial transcript of Hicks’s testimony Monday in advance of a hearing Wednesday at which he is scheduled to appear. His remarks are the first public account from a U.S. official who was in Libya at the time of the attacks about the options that were weighed as militants mobbed the American diplomatic outpost and CIA station in Benghazi, killing U.S. Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens and three other government employees. . .

The Obama is hiding arms deals and that was what the Ambassador was doing the night this went down like a bad drug deal! HE was sacrificed for silence! This is bigger than Lybians wanting to kill a US official!
The bad thing is what did we do about it nothing absoultey nothing.
Back in the day a cruise missile and napalm would have been delivered asap!

Here is the drill:
It’s too soon to know. We are looking into it. Don’t rush to judgement................
.......Oh....it is old news, it was a long time ago, what difference does it make now?
This is kind of the Three Bears philosophy. Too soon, too late, but never “just right” as far as asking questions or looking into something. How many times do they think they can get away with this before we notice?

The same day morning that Susan Rice was sent to the Sunday morning talk shows to peddle the lie about the video, the President of Libya also appeared, and called the attack a terrorist attack. For her to come on afterwards with the story that it was spontaneous, a reaction to the video, made him look like a liar, or unimformed about his own country. According to FNC this morning, that’s why the FBI didn’t check out the crime scene until weeks later—the Libyan government wouldn’t let them because the President of Libya was so angry over the way he had been made a fool of.

Interesting. Yesterday on Face The Nation, Schieffer replayed the Libya Presidents statement from that day.

Your missing my point, the distance is about 650 kilometers not 600 miles. The two cities are closer than the author states by about 200 miles. The author is sloppy in his reporting.

This was a point the S.O. (Special Operator) made in the interview with Adam Housely on Friday. He said it embarrassed him so deeply to see the lies of the WH spokeswoman put the Libyan President in the position of losing face not just in front of his own people, but the world.

Just another example of how the 0 treats the true friends of our nation worse than he does its real enemies.

As one of the whistleblowers put it, "The Taliban is within."

Sorry if you thought you were jammed!
I know the distances and the ability to deploy was my only statement!
This is a harsh statement but someone’s asses could have met their maker even though late! But in time at least an effort would have been made!
By the way who is the new Lybian Ambassador!
Good job for a defeatist!

Bummer was asleep at the wheel and could not be bothered!
Visions of crowds in Vegas dancing in his head!
He had no will or time for those fallen.
I would love to see him in combat situation and rely on fellow service members! They woud save his ass out of pity but not respect the slime that walks our Nation driving it into a pit!

The Boy King cannot be bothered with simple citizens as the

It seems everyone is talking about Hillary’s roll, but not so much the POTUS CIC Barack Obama. The buck stops with him. I hope they both go down the toilet for this, not just Hillary.

I think this may be so bad for BO that even the dems won’t be able to protect him from being impeached without ruining their own reputations. The evidence will be so clear and damning that they will have no choice as we can’t have a CIC that CHOOSES not to protect American citizens. This is much clearer than the Clinton scandal. This involves much more serious accusations and dead Americans.

Me too! At this point I would be satisfied just to have the whole truth get out. This administration watched men die and did nothing....so that their dirty little secret of arming AQ would never see the light of day and so Obama could get reelected.
Then their lies caused even more deaths across the Middle East as real riots started spreading when the Obama Administration started talking about the stupid video. They even jailed a man to keep their filthy secret...then Obama and Hillary had the nerve to use our dead soldiers, ambassador and their grieving families as political props for a photo op as the bodies were returned to our country!

Folks ..it doesn’t get any lower than that!!
