Pat Buchanan: ‘Amnesty and Path to Citizenship Lead to Erasure of Southern Border of U.S.’

“If you get amnesty and a path to citizenship, what the Mexican president wants, that will lead to the erasure of the southern border of the United States.”

So ominously stated syndicated columnist Pat Buchanan on PBS’s McLaughlin Group Friday.

“If you get amnesty and a path to citizenship, what the Mexican president wants,” warned Buchanan, “that will lead to the erasure of the southern border of the United States because the Hispanic population in all those border states is going to be decisive in elections, and they will begin to demand that to people shut up about immigration and let it come forward. And when that happens, you’re going to have an entirely different USA.”

Newsweek’s Eleanor Clift predictably pushed back saying, “They’re talking about thirteen years minimum as a path to citizenship for people who are already in the country. If you can’t handle that, this is not amnesty.”

“Thirteen million illegals in your country is no problem?” quizzed Buchanan.

“Thirteen years is not a giveaway,” Clift responded, “and it’s not amnesty. So I would appreciate if you didn’t always use that phrase.”

“It’s not amnesty?” a shocked Buchanan asked.

After Clift reiterated “No,” Buchanan said, “They came in illegally and then they can stay.”

Sound like amnesty to you?

They’ll be lucky if there’s any welfare at all before this is over. Only hope I see is a ownership society ~ clipping coupons and attending company seminars as a job!

I used to think America should have expanded all the way South to the Panama canal. For that very reason.

But the welfare state destroyed that idea.

Now we are screwed no matter what we do, it not a matter of if we will collapse only a matter of when.

Pat Buchanan has been vilified by conservatives in the past, but his positions (other than on Israel) seem to be in the process of being vindicated.
