Carville: 'Ted Cruz Is the Most Talented and Fearless Republican Politician
News Busters ^ | May 5 | Noel Sheppard

JAMES CARVILLE: I think he is the most talented and fearless Republican politician I’ve seen in the last 30 years. I further think that he’s going to run for president and he is going to create something. I’m not sitting here saying he’s going to win, and I think Senator DeMint is right. I’ve listened to excerpts of his speech in South Carolina. He touches every button, and this guy has no fear. He just keeps plowing ahead. And he is going to be something to watch.

And a lot of Republicans feel this way, George, and you hear this a lot: "If we only got someone who was articulate and was for what we were for, we would win elections. And we get these John McCains and these Mitt Romneys and these squishy guys that can’t do anything." Well, there’s one thing this guy is not - he ain’t squishy, not in the least.

CARVILLE: Ted Cruz is going to eat their lunch. That guy, I’m telling you, he will out debate. I am just saying, he is a talent. I’m not rooting. I’m really sincere here. We watch him, he does things, I mean when he started talking about William Travis in South Carolina and the Alamo, this is a guy, and you go, "This guy is something." Now I don’t agree with him. I think he’s out there. But I’m telling you, he’s more talented than all of these other guys.

It matters in terms of the Constitution. I guess Conservatives and Republicans are beginning to disregard it as much as the Democrats do.

Being Canadian born, even if one or both parents are American citizens he is in eligible to be president - unless he was born on U.S. property such as the embassy, US military base, US military hospital, etc. the reason McCain was eligible was because the Panama Zone was a US protectorate at the time.

NBC is all in your head. There is no definition of NBC in the US Constitution, the only document which supersedes all others. If Obama was elected to two terms with a father who was never even a permanent resident much less citizen of US, the issue is resolved. His father was here on a student visa. Your opinion means nothing. SCOTUS & the congress has already accepted Obama. The precedence is set for 100 years or more.

Could be an Argument but he was not born state side! HI is the only thing bummer has goin for him!

Cruz was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada[1], where his parents, Eleanor Darragh and Rafael Cruz, were working in the oil business.[9][10] His father was a Cuban immigrant to the United States during the Cuban Revolution.[11] His mother was born and reared in Delaware, in a family of Irish and Italian descent.[10][12] Cruz’s family returned to the U.S. when he was four years old.[11]

Not if one of his parents was a US citizen and on official duty abroad. The US Constitution does not say one must be born on US SOIL to be natural born. That meme has been started by people with lot of idle time on their hands.

“Lol, perfect! I just hope his closet is clean, because you know they will stop at nothing to smear him.”

I think skeletons would have been found in his senate run this last election and none came up. Certainly, his every move since his birth, including his birth, will be searched to death.

“If Obama was elected to two terms with a father who was never even a permanent resident much less citizen of US, the issue is resolved.”

Come back to earth.

Obama’s mother is an American citizen. Same situation as Cruz.

And yet Obama still had to produce a questionable birth certificate to prove that he was born in the US.

Look, the bottom line here is that millions of republicans will stay home if the party nominates a Canadian. I’m not one of them but that’s just reality.

I’m not sure I like him, but I do respect him: he’s smart and articulate. Practically the ONLY lib I respect.

Who cares what James Carville, lawless immoral chief strategist for Clinton, the person who raped Juanita Broaddrick, says.

I remember when Ted Cruz was first running in the Texas Senate Primary. He was being laughed at, taken lightly by David Dewhurst a RINO to the hilt!!! Cruz mopped up the floor with him. I knew then this dude, Ted Cruz was the real thing!!! I am in his corner. Would love to see him go face to face with moron Joe Biden over gun control legislation. Would simply be LOL as Cruz would drop Biden like a bad habit!!! God has sent us a leader to battle Obama (Satan in the Bible Miniseries and his destroy America minions). Onward!!!

Oh Bull. A handful of birther cranks and fanatics might stay home, the overwhelming vast majority of Republicans and conservatives will turn out. Birtherism is a fringe movement with almost no real influence outside of a few message boards.

I agree. Rubio has good delivery and does well with talking points and canned speeches. Cruz seems to be genuinely intelligent and can think on his feet. Best of all, he is genuinely conservative, unlike Dewhurst or Hutchison.
