I don’t give a carp if he was homosexual or not. Millions have suffered because of his wrong-headed theories.

Being homosexual makes people wrong-headed about so much else in their lives? How many other bad decisions have they made?

Who knew?

“I don’t give a carp if he was homosexual or not. Millions have suffered because of his wrong-headed theories.”

Very few theories exist in an intellectual vacuum.

A fish discussing respiration is thinking of a totally different reality than a cat discussing respiration. (assuming for the moment that both could actually think & discuss).

One’s world view is the foundation for one’s ideas, theories & actions. This is why John Adams wrote:

“Because we have no government, armed with power, capable of contending with human passions, unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge and licentiousness would break the strongest cords of our Constitution, as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other. Oaths in this country are as yet universally considered as sacred obligations.”

I had a friend to whom rules & restraints carried not enough weight, beginning with marital restraints. He ended up killing a number of people by ignoring weather minimums and thereby flying into a 1500’ granite cliff.

Not every moral man is a great economist, leader, journalist or pilot. However, if a man will cheat on his wife, after making a solemn oath before God and the assembly of family, friends and community, then he cannot be completely trusted in other areas.

A trustworthy man has disciplined himself to subjugate his passions to a greater good and higher moral authority. He knows that he is accountable for his actions. The hedonist cares little for consequences not personally affecting himself.

People influencing the future of our country, whether legislatively or economically, should have a VESTED INTEREST in that future. Would you board an airplane whose pilot had just given a talk saying,
“Live for today, for tomorrow we die!”
“By the way, I have terminal cancer and three weeks to live.”
