Kelly is only doing this to stay in the public eye and increase his little organization's fundraising take for the month. He doesn't think the NRA will actually do it, but rather that his fellow travelers will see him as an outspoken public critic of the NRA and be willing to write checks to him.

BTW, the NRA convention is a potential snorefest without some protesters. They’re fun to watch, remember the angry gungrabbers after Columbine? The Million Mom march in 2000?
I mean, we know who the enemy is, so where are they when their main target is concentrated in one place? All that entertainment value gone to waste.
