Ran across this during a foray into other things. The comments are interesting.

Here's mine:

"The reason, she thinks, is that given the political polarization of the climate change debate, environmental activism is so frowned upon by those the right that they’ll do anything to keep themselves distanced from it."

Absolutely wrong. The reason is that most conservatives have researched the "green" label and found, in most cases, it is used as a) a sales gimmick b) as a sales gimmick based on erroneous data c) a sales gimmick rooted in the cause of "saving the earth" which has proven to be pure hyperbole d) a sales gimmick that when, in depth analysis is done, most often results in the discovery that the "green" item actually utilizes more energy in its production than the item it's replacing.

None of the above are mutually exclusive and any combination of the above may be true.

I do not automatically believe anything is "green" until I research it. The progressive/liberal is mentally roped to labels and therefore does not bother to find out the truth and blindly follows the label's path to their own self-aggrandizement as a "saver of the earth".

That’s an easy one. Just show us one or more of the following:

1. They save money.

2. They save time.

3. Are superior to the older products.

4. Are safer than the older products.

5. Are more convenient than the older products.

What’s so difficult about that?

Basically: Let me choose what works best for me and my family. It’s that simple.

I used to live in a house where it was more cost effective to use energy saving bulbs. However, for the last ten years I’ve lived in a home that is next to a forest... and we experience frequent power outages and surges. The energy efficient bulbs burn out too quickly when the power isn’t stable and are too expensive to replace.

I read somewhere that Libtard New York Governor Andrew Cuomo owns a fleet of 60’s era Muscle Cars.

In other news, Barbara Streisand owns a 25,000 Square Foot House that she and Husband occupy BY THEMSELVES.

Real lovers of the Earth they are.

How Do You Get Conservatives to Buy Energy Efficient Products?

Easy!

Make sure the COST over time is less than what we are buying now.

Why do conservatives, who should have a natural inclination toward conservation, have a beef with energy efficiency? It could be tied to the political polarization of the climate change debate.

Exactly, we don't like being forced to do things because of policies based on JUNK science.

Conservatives have no problem conserving energy, when we CHOOSE to do so; many do so in order to save money.

If the energy efficient stuff is equal in all other respects, like price, everyone would buy it.

Make them bigger? lol I’m 6’9”, and I believe that hybrid cars discriminate against tall people. May I should sue lol I can barely fit in a regular sized car/sedan, so I can only comfortable own trucks or SUVs. Unfortunately, hybrids in those models are exorbitantly high. Guess I should file an ADA complaint against Chevy for the Volt or Toyota for the Prius.
