What he’s doing is making such calls acceptable for other libs to follow.

See 1930s Germany for a historical example.

Well, sort of. I think it's a sign of insanity to badmouth a group that is generally armed. By the time the Germans got around to demonizing the Jews, the public had been more or less disarmed. Doesn't make the demonization sane, just makes it safer for the bigmouth.

Is this joker a leader in the demonization? I don't think so, other than maybe his intensity and directness. I figure most liberals share his sentiment, but just do a better job of keeping their beliefs under wraps.

Exactly. This kind of rhetoric, calling for violence and/or oppression against Christians, gun owners, opposers of the sodomite agenda, etc, is being normalised from more than one direction, and the more our so-called “leadership” (political, church, whatever) keeps quiet, the bolder they get. Just like in Germany. Then small actions will begin, they’ll get away with it while our leaders turn their faces away, and the actions will escalate, until we won’t know how we got to the point in which we’re headed.

They see our “Republican” leadership betraying us, our church leaders in retreat and silence, our government itself issuing the same kind of threats, and they know we’re being isolated.
