Got a call one time from Citibank asking if I had bought a PC at dell. I said, no. They told me my card had been used to buy it and after I told them it was in my possession, they told me to destroy it and they would send me a new one. I asked what were the details here as I was an LEO for NY. Told me it appeared a group was operating in concert with someone in Dell using blocks of numbers of cards and then shipping purloined PCs to Brooklyn. I said I have an Idea, put me in a UPS outfit and let me deliver the PC to the place in Brooklyn so we can arrest the perps. After a few seconds the guy on the phone said, I don’t think the bank could withstand the liability that would bring to them given how upset you sound. Even after I promised to only hit the perps, they said no thank you.
how about we turn these clowns over to the people they stole from, make the results of the reunion VERY public, include flogging of the lawyers rushing to their defense, after the party, mail the remaining pieces of the thieves home to their families.
Good story! You are just too practical. Unfortunately, banks are run by lawyers and politicians.

I watched one of those investigative shows where they showed people who received stolen items at their home and would send them on to someone else they never met (for money). While the enablers claimed to be innocent and ignorant, I would have no problem executing them along with the masterminds; nobody could be that stupid - it stinks to high heaven.
