Wisconsin mom gets up to 10 years for 1957 death of her baby daughter
The case against Ruby C. Klokow, who pleaded no contest to a second-degree murder charge in February, reopened in 2008 after her son opened up about alleged child abuse: 'My mother killed my baby sister!'
SHEBOYGAN, Wis. - A Wisconsin woman accused of killing her baby more than 50 years ago showed up at her sentencing hearing Wednesday expecting to be sentenced to 45 days in jail as part of a plea agreement forged between lawyers. Instead, Ruby C. Klokow was sentenced to a maximum of 10 years in prison. Klokow, 76, squeezed her eyes shut when a Sheboygan County judge told her that abiding by the plea agreement between prosecutors and her defense attorney would have been an affront to justice.

Hope the old hag lives through her sentence and dies the day she gets out.
Let that be a lesson to you children, you’re
never too old to go to prison.
Prediction: “President” Hussein will pardon this woman on his last day in office.
I’m sorry, but I don’t think the testimony of a person who was 2 or 3 at the time of a death some 56 years ago should carry much weight. I remember events from my childhood - specific recollections - that I know to be false.
Before his mother's sentencing, James Klokow read a tearful statement to the judge
"My mother killed my baby sister," he said, his voice cracking. "She did not cherish her, she did not love her, she did not protect her. ... I feel my mother should get 20 years in prison."
In addition to Jeaneen, James and Bruce, Klokow had a fourth child, Scott, who died as a baby. His body was disinterred along with Jeaneen's as police investigated but his death couldn't be considered suspicious.

The woman plead guilty didn’t she?
And this is what a real woman looks like. Who would you rather see every morning for the rest of your life?
Abuse is something you can’t forget, even though you want to. The memory is in the body as well as the mind. This woman was a monster, not only for killing her daughter, but for laying a lifetime of guilt on her innocent son, telling the boy that it was his fault.
The son who testified was repeatedly and horrifically beaten within an inch of his life. Although there was no protection for abused children back then, had the jury found this woman guilty of second degree murder, she would die in prison where she should have been all along.
Sorry - I don’t buy it.
I guess Post Partum Abortions weren’t legal yet back in 1957.
That was a long time ago.
What difference does it make now?
It’s been investigated.
et al........
Her justice will come at the hand of the Lord, all she will get now is free room, board and medical at taxpayer expense and will probably be celebrated by the sick ones in prison.
Well, I’m glad for you that you never experienced abuse, sorry for you that you have such lack of compassion and the failure imagination beyond your own experience.
What a country!
No contest is equivalent to guilty for legal sentencing purposes.
Don’t forget: She also gets a free college education. She’s probably too old now, but when she’s paroled she can be a Professor at Columbia like Barrys pals.
