WASHINGTON As a gun safety bill dissolved on the Senate floor last month, a group of eight senators some who had supported the failed measure had already moved on to a policy battle they found more promising: reinventing the nations troubled immigration system.

Actually, they don’t want to “reinvent” the immigration system; what they want to do is allow citizen status to hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants and thereby make them dependents of the Democratic Party for many, many elections to come.
Awwwwww! Those pesky conservatives that we worked so hard to defeat are causing us all kinds of trouble!
Wait, what? Gun “safety” bill? I think the times meant gun “confiscation” bill. Always in for a surprise when these asshats name their proposed bills.
I was going to comment on the “gun safety bill” characterization of registration as a stepping stone to confiscation, but you got there first. There is no safer option than ensuring enough real Americans are armed that even a petty tyrant wannabe won’t have the courage to grab too much power too quickly. We just need real conservatives in government who will give that power back to the people and shrink big government back within the boundaries set by the Constitution.
