Perhaps the cheap penny pinching bastard should kick in some money to charitable organizations.
I guess $100/mo figures out to about 3.33/day for 4 people. The key is to build upon the previous days meal, like Pot Roast to beef stew to vegetable soup, etc. But it can be done. The local country bulk store has great deals on flour, oatmeal, corn meal, etc. (Bread on Tuesday is 50cents a loaf)
My dad, in his eighties, does that. I bet that's where he got it from.
My dad, who would have been 89 now (he died in 2004), also made this. Probably similar to bread pudding or French toast -- amazing what one can make with so few ingredients.
I think, in these recession times, the challenge for the poor or unemployed & underemployed (especially hipsters) will be how to be creative on a budget.
We used to put cornbread in milk back in the late 40s. Actually it was probably what most people call corn pone as it was flat and cooked on a greased iron skillet.
It tasted pretty good but I bet it would not taste as good now.
Bidens brother has a billion dollar contract with the US Gov for services in Iraq. Is he fasting?
Stop the BS.
