Palin resigned the governorship to protect her family.
She was going to be bankrupted by “ethics investigations” under a law that Alaska has since repealed (Democrats and RINOs didn’t want to live under the same scrutiny).
After McCain lost, that was pretty much the end of Palin’s political career. She still has a place as a speaker, but I doubt she will ever run for elect office again.
