Yes...I believe you’re right in that respect....but we pushed before....the question is if there’s enough of us to do it....who will?

It's true that congressional reps are sensitive to how the voters feel about issues, but not because they give a damn what we think. They just want to know where the third rail is, so they can avoid stepping on it. It's their slimy skins they worry about, more than anything else, so yeah, we can push them when we unite to do so.
On the other hand, they're also under enormous pressure from lobbyists and party bosses, not to mention more shadowy elements of the political apparatus. The kind of force that can be brought to bear on reps from those types, is up close and personal, and can cause them to buckle.
We've got to face the fact that our civil system has been utterly compromised, and needs to be cleaned out down to the bulkheads. It's going to take a revolutionary act of defiance on the part of the people to get it done.
