Right, experience at winning elections and governing is like the worst thing ever. If only Gomez was a realtor (no spell check, I refuse to capitalize that) he'd be perfect.
I’m certainly not going to belittle Gomez’s experience or credentials—he’s a former Navy SEAL and a Harvard MBA—but being a political novice is not exactly a net positive when running for the U.S. Senate, particularly in rough terrain for a Republican such as Massachusetts. I mean, Gomez’s background is no more impressive than that of Alaska’s Joe Miller (who was a decorated combat veteran during the Persian Gulf War, a graduate of Yale Law School and a former federal magistrate judge), but at least Miller is an actual conservative, and even in a conservative state such as Alaska his lack of political experience led him to blow the general election against a freaking write-in RINO.
