I hate to add to the growing pessimism, but with the relative inaction after 9/11 (and since), it began to seem that what's left of this nation no longer has the will to protect its hard-won blessings.

Maybe, just maybe there's still something that will be motivation enough to halt this suicidal appeasement, but I surely wouldn't advise anyone to hold their breath.

Part of me aches to be thirty years younger, do a few things differently, and be worth a damn for whatever's coming down the pike, but alas . . .
