That being said, I am wondering why Native Americans have issue with this billboard?

They are just another grievance group, without something to whine about they have nothing at all.

But they are also happy living in squalor as long as they get a government check. It's a deal far too many people are willing to make. The message of the sign, "you don't want to end up like the Indians", just highlights their terrible state.

Thanks, you two. I get it now. I guess I was looking at the billboard in more of a historical manner vs the modern day one. Double hugs!

I don't deny they got the short end of the stick and they could have been treated a lot better, still they were not the only ones who were mistreated in history. I know in my case, I had ancestors suffer under the pogroms in Russia because they were Jewish.

That's the point. For some reason, many Indians are happy with the pittance they get from "The Great White (Black? Who knows?) Father" sitting in DC. In short, they wimped out big time, from fierce warriors to being shiftless welfare bums. Yes, they must accept part of the blame too but it isn't all their fault, like in the inner cities, the government handouts are designed to keep them down. Still they need to "man up" and see the light

As the late, great DJ Jack Armstrong said in on clip I heard taped in 1973 at 13Q here in Pittsburgh after playing "Indian Reservation" by Paul Revere and the Raiders, "have the government take care of me, look what it did to the Indians, pass man! Pass!"
