The link is from an old letter written by a military commander who received a visit from President Bush during a brief stop in Alaska. The commander’s son had recently been killed in action.

An Excerpt:
....A short time later, the Secret Service opened the door and President Bush walked in. I thought we might get to shake his hand as he went through. But instead, he walked up to my wife with his arms wide, pulled her in for a hug and a kiss, and said, “I wish I could heal the hole in your heart.” He then grabbed me for a hug, as well as each of our sons. Then he turned and said, “Everybody out.”
A few seconds later, the four of us were completely alone behind closed doors with the President of the United States and not a Secret Service agent in sight....

Wish I could have all research at my fingertips but do not. However these are good quotes from Bush on the Islamic religion in mostly his first term.
From 2007: President Bush Rededicates Islamic Center of Washington The Islamic Center of D.C.
“To underscore America’s respect for the Muslim faith here at home, I came to this Center six days after the 9/11 attacks to denounce incidents of prejudice against Muslim Americans. (Applause.) Today I am announcing a new initiative that will improve mutual understanding and cooperation between America and people in predominately Muslim countries. “
” I will appoint a special envoy to the Organization of the Islamic Conference. This is the first time a President has made such an appointment to the OIC. (Applause.) Our special envoy will listen to and learn from representatives from Muslim states and will share with them America’s views and values. This is an opportunity for Americans to demonstrate to Muslim communities our interest in respectful dialogue and continued friendship. “

I am not high, I just did not want a President Obama. One thing the Dims and all but the most radical libs know is they have to stand by their guy even if he is not perfect. On this side the circular firing squad is the popular choice and then we get people wondering how we got a President Obama.
I am glad for GWB that his parents were alive at his library opening to see it, not so glad we get stuck paying for those libraries.
These GWB apologists just cant help themselves. And you can see they are clearly outnumbered now, many like that kook from Ohio have fled hear long ago.
I been laying off these Bush worship threads but the title ‘Great President’ was too much to resist.
‘You are either with us or against us’
‘Stay the course’
‘see you at the signing’

“I don’t know where bin Laden is. I have no idea and really don’t care. It’s not that important. It’s not our priority.” —Washington, D.C., March 13, 2002
“My answer is bring them on.” —on Iraqi insurgents attacking U.S. forces, Washington, D.C., July 3, 2003

That’s not the exact clip I was looking for, but sone on FOx news said that in 9-11 there was no Muslim prejudice, but that the media is constantly attacking conservatives and Americans and putting them into hate groups without evidence. It was either Bill O’Reilly, John Stossel, Sean Hannity or Megyn Kelly. it was one of those four or a guest. It was within the past two weeks.

As I recall the comments were said in the context of both people on the left misunderstanding terrorism, attacking the hosts comments and upset it was two guys with Muslim connections who did the act in Boston. And then connecting it with but they can go after Americans and conservatives. Then the statement was made that around 9-11 of 01 after the tragic day, there was no Muslim Prejudice or Discrimination.
Might have even been Huckabee who said this, but unlikely.
I am guessing Hannity, O’Reilly or some guest like Bernard Goldberg or Brent Bozell or John Stossel on his show in a repeat on a Sunday when discussing terrorism and the police state.
What one can get from it in relation to Bush is that he mistaken about prejudice happening after 9-11 to Muslims. Conservatives just want to be left alone and be peaceful people doing the right thing.
If Mitt Romney had spilled the beans on Benghazi during the debates, would Obama be President ?
Probably.
One of the greatest American Presidents and indeed, one of the greatest world leaders in history. The man was responsible for liberating over fifty million people, kept God up front where He belongs, understood the fight was good vs. evil. Understood and tried to restore property rights to Americans.
His only failings really were being a leader of stupid people too dumb to appreciate his wisdom and compassion.
Now, you all can mock and ridicule...but you cannot change reality fools.
BTW, it was the people who voted Obama in...not President Bush. What are YOU going to do about that? That’s what I thought...
hmmm, looks like someone is trying to rehabilitate W so Jeb has got a shot. Good luck with that.
1rudeboy talking about clueless is really funny.
Bush was not and is not a conservative. Bill Clinton was a more conservative President then Bush. Clinton ended welfare and balanced the federal budget. Name something conservative Bush did? The only thing I can think of was one good Supreme Court appointment and I am not talking about the traitor Roberts.
I like Ike.
To me GWB is one of many, many failures of the judgment of Republican primary voters.
He gave us Obama. He converted two winning wars into Heartsandminds ops that must always bog down and/or lose. He ramped up entitlements and spending like any Democrat. He inaugurated the real police state with his Homeland Security stuff that may be okay with a moral Republican in office but was made for the race into the police state under a Democrat.
On election night, the mainstream media made it appear that Gore had won while the polls were still open in the western states, which may have depressed the turnout for Bush and given Gore his plurality in the popular vote. Definitely in Florida a lot of voters in the panhandle went home without voting because the networks had announced Gore had won Florida while the polls were still open in the Central Time Zone counties--that is estimated to have cost Bush 10,000 votes. The media did their best to drag Gore over the finish line...then and during the Florida recount.
Rush was one of the first to declare that Bush was not a conservative, and he was right. Bush, probably a fine man personally, was a neo-con or statist at best. Just look at the legislation he signed. He may have been well-intentioned, but it was all in the wrong directions. From what I am reading in the blogosphere, more conservatives are wanting the Republican Party to disavow Bush and move on. Even Barbara Bush doesn’t want any more Bushes.
