Big hit to what's left of the California apparel industry, especially since domestic buying is off. Could be a nice boost to Mexican manufacturing, however, since it doesn't apply to them - US companies can just shift operations south and have their illegal employees do the work at home instead of forcing them to sneak all the way up to L.A. :)

Europe is broke, and doesn't seem to mind risking a trade war later if they can grab a little quick cash now. I think the 38% duty matches what China assesses on imported luxury goods. Perhaps that number is becoming the new "world standard."

Fine. I see big duty on women’s jeans every single day and I don’t like it.

I wonder what import duties the EU is imposing on the massive amount of Chinese junk imported into the EU?

When a Company states that their Jeans are expensive and that they cost $260 dollars a pair I have a hard time feeling sorry for them.

Jeans are Jeans and anything over $50 bucks a pair is robbery, over $100 dollars a pair is just a plain rip off..

People are nuts to buy a label. My idea of clothes is to cover my butt , not to advertise a label for a company getting rich by ripping off the rich.

That’s what our international business and government leaders call free trade, when their foreign nations of choice do it. And it’s done on many other products.
