If the stick figure had been white, she would have been offended that no black children were represented in the quilt. She was determined to be offended either way.

Think : 'article topic'
Think : 'subject/predicate'
I'm confident you can manage it !
(but if not, here's a clue : 'white guilt' only works if you allow it)

too true. Since I have no reason to feel guilty I don’t. But those poor students had no idea how to react or what to think. Sadly a few of those students may unconsciously feel prejudice now after Hodges rude, thoughtless, immature, and purely ignorant attack on their act of heart-felt kindness.

somehow ms offended didn’t have anything to say about the black figure doing parkour lol In fact most of the figures used in signage are always black... has nothing to do with race.
I have to say, in general these sort of student projects are inane and a waste of time. Why on earth do we need a quilt displayed anywhere, that shows what they learned about parkour???? Maybe these teachers should have the students work on projects that actually matter.

Stuff like this just makes my blood boil. Oh how I wish someone had stood up and told this woman to pound sand.

When it comes to local black politicians finding racism under every rock, it is now impossible to distinguish parody from reality.
What is kinda funny is that I’ve never actually met a person that was black like that figure. “Black” really means a particular race. The color “black” no more accurately depicts them than the color “white” depicts white people. Dark brown and light tan are more like it.
i.e. this is stupid.

Agree and disagree only because yes...often projects are a waste of time, but in this case it may be the ONLY time any of these kids pick of a needle and thread in their lives. Plus they had to use team-work. That said I think it was a better project that some I’ve seen....like in sex ed classes where they learn to put a condom on a banana or the likes.

It is the same stupidity that caused us to have to change silhouette targets from black to blue and now orange because some moron said it made police offers more likely to shoot a black person because the targets were black.
Just amazingly stupid.

The manufacturing jobs went to Mexico or China. Sad isn’t it?

Just wow! How ironic that she cannot see how offensive she is to her fellow citizens. She is the bigot.
To: FamiliarFace

The student should have told the Councilwoman, “well Ma’am, maybe when you’re big and golden you’ll understand the quilt and not be offended.”
