Holder: Amnesty is a 'civil right'

"Attorney general promises government working to protect illegal aliens"

U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder, in remarks that largely have escaped notice, has claimed that “creating a mechanism for [illegal aliens] to earn citizenship and move out of the shadows… is a matter of civil and human rights.”

Holder also said that the federal government will work hard “to safeguard the rights of language minorities.”

These claims are likely to add fuel to the growing controversy over the Senate amnesty proposal developed by the so-called “Gang of Eight.”

Holder made these remarks in an April 24 speech to the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund Awards Gala. MALDEF’s notable activity includes suing Sheriff Joe Arpaio and opposing Arizona’s immigration law.

Holder said, “[I]t is long past time to reform our immigration system in a way that is fair; that guarantees that all are playing by the same rules…”

However, one of the primary criticisms of amnesty is that it does not treat all immigrants according to the same rules. Instead, according to critics, amnesty would reward illegal aliens by allowing them to bypass established procedures required for legal entry.

Holder framed the amnesty proposal in........

Arrgghhh! My poor blood pressure! There is a strong rebuttal to every sentence Holder is quoted as saying, yet he would not hear me if I said them, nor would the Obama followers that make up half the voting public.

Rubio Claims Amnesty Needed to Identify Illegal Immigrants
But law already requires all aliens to register

WASHINGTON, DC (April 26, 2013) — Senator Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) is claiming amnesty is necessary so that the United States can determine the identity of illegal aliens in the country. However, basic enforcement of existing immigration law is all that is necessary to acquire their identities. Instead of promoting amnesty, Sen. Rubio could demand that the Obama administration enforce 8 U.S.C. § 1302, “Registration of Aliens,” which makes it “the duty of every alien” to register their presence in the United States if they remain here 30 days or longer. Failure to do so results in a fine of up to $1,000 and/or imprisonment up to six months.

Rubio explained his support for amnesty and his flip-flop on border security, saying: “We don’t want to wait on legalizing, and I’ll tell you why. My original position was that we wanted to secure the border first, and then legalize. The problem is we have millions of people here now, by some estimates ten, eleven million. We want to know who they are and freeze the problem in place. I don’t want that number to grow. It behooves us to know who they are as soon as possible, so it doesn’t get worse.”

More details at: http://www.cis.org/feere/rubio-amnesty-needed-identify-illegals-law-already-requires-registration

The existing registration law applies to nearly all illegal aliens. The Department of Homeland Security’s estimates of 11.5 million illegal aliens (as of January 2011) are on based the American Community Survey. The survey uses a two-month rule for calculating residency; those here for less than two months are not counted. This means that the 11.5 million illegal immigrants are by definition people who have been in the United States illegally for more than 60 days and running afoul of the 30-day registration requirement. There is simply no question that the illegal immigrant population is comprised of people who are violating this registration statute.

Sen. Rubio seems to have fallen into President Obama’s trap: First, the Obama administration refuses to enforce immigration laws, and then the president points to all of the illegal immigration that results as a reason for amnesty. Rubio appears to have embraced the amnesty agenda as a means to correct a problem that has resulted from intentional non-enforcement.

A little noticed complaint has been that the Democrats and their running dog lackeys in Congress and the media have been referring to the illegal aliens as if they are STATELESS ~ that they have no citizenship unless we provide that to them.

I"m not sure they are consciously aware of what they are saying, but Holder shows the first inkling of some sense that THEY ARE ALREADY CITIZENS SOMEWHERE ELSE.

I think I've succeeded in bringing that up as something the Democrats have to successfully beat down or they're going to lose this whole deal.

What the illegals are missing is not citizenship BUT A VISA. The way they can get a visa is to go back to their home country, or to a US consulate in another country ~ e.g. Canada, or Mexico ~ and apply for a visa as a tourist, or maybe a student.

They are suffering from no disability whatsoever that suggests we need to keep them in the US to deal with their need for visas.

I hope conservatives take note. When a liberal uses the words “civil right” they really mean just another way to marginalize anyone who disagrees as a bigot. Its worked for homosexuals.

If amnesty is a civil right then why isn’t Holder pushing to disband ICE? Apparently they are not needed.

Illegal aliens are foot soldiers in Obama's war on the American way of life. I'm sick and tired of hearing Spanish spoken everywhere I go. Even in good neighborhoods you feel like you're a frickin' visitor in your OWN county. Just keep turning that screw, Holder.. FUEH.

If anyone thinks the DHS is purchasing high volumes of ammo for 'training', THEY ARE KIDDING THEMSELVES. Obama, Biden, Jarrett, Kerry, Holder, Napolitano, etc.. They are perpetrating a leftist-radical war on our free-market, capitalist Republic and they are building their own personal army called the DHS, to defend it.

The Obama Regime does not attract talent ~ not even leftwingtard talent. Rather, it starts with the dregs at the bottom of the barrel and digs down!

Huh? Are you kidding? Talent? Please explain how things would be different if he attracted "talent" as you would define it?

It sounds as though you imply that if he had "talented" people he would accomplish more positive things.

He has attracted the exact people he has desired. They are talented in the ways he wishes. He wants to turn this Republic into a Socialist H*ll.

You mean Obama's people? Ok, if they were "smart" in they way you define it, what would be different?

I think they are pushing the envelope, doing as much damage to our Freedoms as possible, right up to the point where they know they would face blow back.

They are infesting the bureaucracy with rabid leftists who will do great damage long after these cretins are gone.

Dodd Frank and Obamacare is a quite "smart" approach towards the goal of irreversible Socialism.

From a Statist point of view, they are accomplishing a great deal.

The Obamistas are stupid ~ they currently infest the ranks of the appointees but they are so utterly devoid of ability to reason most of the federal agency headquarters in Washington are being run by the usual cadre of GS 15s.

Now that's not a bad thing ~ most of the GS 15s know their agencies missions and capabilities far better than the SES types ~ and certainly better than any appointee!

Once we have a different president, and it doesn't matter if we have a Democrat or Republican in this case, there will be a new crew of appointees. They will do their level best to kick the Obamistas to the curb. After all, THEY KNOW.

If that next president is a Republican we get an added bonus ~ the crowd of lobbyists who usually argue on behalf of keeping this or that old appointee on the job simply won't do that.

BTW, ObamaKKKare is not smart ~ it's already into crash and burn cycle. The internal bureaucratic inertia component is entirely too high.

I saw the phenomenon at work at USPS headquarters when the Postmaster General handed over a function he called "Tactical Marketing" to a woman whose earlier calling had been his babysitter.

They hired a large crew of career people, and gave them all promotions of 1 or 2 grades. Then, they hired a contractor to come in and teach them what 'tactical marketing' was about.

I've already heard of such events in HS where hires from the traditional agencies are being gathered together to have a contractor tell them what 'health care' is.

Hmmm ~ let's see how far this nonsense gets. Tactical Marketing lasted about a year and then they began firing people.
