FReepers knew about this thanks to Andrew Breitbart. Years later, after Obama is safely reelected, the mainstream media reports on the wholesale looting of the American treasury by the Obama administration.

$1.33 billion, at $50,000 each, is 26,600 checks. Vote-buying can be fun!

(Bribery is one of the two specific crimes listed in the Constitution that a sitting President can be impeached for. Treason, which Americans don't even know a definition for anymore, is the other. The rest are "high crimes and misdemeanors".)

Thanx for the reminder, Kristinn.

I remember this, and also remember (as you've implied) we were probably the only ones that were informed.

Stands to (their) reason that it would come out now.

Now .. about that monster that performed thousands of aborticides ...

This was one of the first things that occurred after ‘08 election. From the article.

“From the start, the claims process prompted allegations of widespread fraud and criticism that its very design encouraged people to lie: because relatively few records remained to verify accusations, claimants were not required to present documentary evidence that they had been unfairly treated or had even tried to farm. Agriculture Department reviewers found reams of suspicious claims, from nursery-school-age children and pockets of urban dwellers, sometimes in the same handwriting with nearly identical accounts of discrimination.”

Claims could exceed 4 billion.

Lee Stranahan has been at the forefront of keeping sunlight on Pigford. Ironically, the original farmers, who actually had a case for discrimination, haven’t gotten bupkis from USDA.

Justice Department lawyers worried about false claims. But the lawyer familiar with the Clinton administration’s stance said they had decided that “it was better to err on the side of giving money to people who might not qualify if they went through litigation than to deny money to people who actually deserve it.”

God forbid you worry about erring on the side of giving out money on behalf of the taxpayers!
