TORONTO Canadian immigration authorities tried to deport the Toronto VIA Rail terror suspect nine years ago but never did so because, as a stateless Palestinian, he could not be sent to any other country, documents obtained by the National Post show.
Raed Jaser was allegedly working illegally under several aliases when he was arrested in August 2004 on an outstanding immigration warrant. Officials wanted to deport him because he had a string of criminal convictions but were forced to set him free after two days.
The governments failure to deport Mr. Jaser allegedly proved costly for Canada: He and co-accused Chiheb Esseghaier, 30, an immigrant from Tunisia, were charged this week with plotting to derail a passenger train traveling from New York to Toronto.

Canada Ping!
This conundrum of what to do with a deportee if no country on earth will take him is a problem for us in the States as well. (call it the Ogie Oglethorpe Syndrome)
fly out over ocean and tell them ,You’re home
They should have sent him to Hell where they all belong.
They should have read Aesop’s Fable about the Man and the Asp.
Given that the PA runs its own territory and even has UN recognition, I find it absurd that a Palestinian could be deemed “stateless”. We should tell the PA that if they won’t let us send him there, we’ll just drop him there- from 30,000 feet.
Sounds like someone's trying to make the case for a "two state solution" in Israel.
Where DID he come from? Where WAS he born?
Send him to the garbage isle that just got recognition from the UN.
Too many people get deported there, and they just might tip over the island!
At least Canada did not fail to halt their attack. But its true Canada is cutting it uncomfortably close. A few more attempts like this by other terrorist Canada has failed to deport and one of them will get thou Canada’s attack attempts.
Then Canada will be like us for the last 3 years under Obama almost entirely reliant upon the terrorist’s own incompetents. (Remember we have had a number of successful terrorist attack attempts in the last few years that failed only due to the terrorist themselves fouling up the operation.)
Don’t let it get that bad Canada!
