JOAN WALSH: Part of what I think the poll numbers tell us though is that President Obama improved the economy. The stimulus worked. It didn't do everything it needed to do, but it took people out of that misery that they were in, a lot of people.

So, Obama improved the economy by making it worse, and the stimulus worked to improve the economy by slowing it down not only past and present, but long into the future as we got no rate of return on investment - it will continue to accumulate interest in additional debt, weighing the economy down for at least a generation or more.
