That move by Greece is a sign of desperation.
Yes it is. And its pretty meaningless too because it solves noting. Greece is in the mess that its in because its government spends much more than it takes in. It wants to provide a lavish Welfare State for its government employees and citizens (in that order) that it simply can't afford now that it can't borrow anymore. Even if they get a debt reduction from Germany based on this nonsense reparations claim, they will be back in a mess in a couple years because they have not addressed their fundamental problem.
It looks horribly desperate. Talk about “biting the hand that feeds you”. If it wasn’t for what good will Greece was getting from Germany, I suspect the Greeks would be eating each other in the streets.
