The U.S. Army is directing troops to remove a Bible inscription that a vendor etched into the serial numbers of weapon scopes, Fox News has learned.

Soldiers at Fort Wainwright in Alaska told Fox News they received a directive to turn in their scopes so the Bible references could be removed.

The scopes were made by Trijicom and referenced New Testament passages in John 8:12 and Second Corinthians 4:6. The verses appeared at the end of the scope serial numbers – “JN8:12” and “2COR4:6.”

“The biblical verse (JN8:12) must be removed utilizing a Dremel type tool and then painted black,” read instructions on how to remedy the matter.

After the letters and numbers were scrapped off, soldiers were directed to use apply black paint to ensure the verses were totally covered.

I suspect that the (Muslim in the White House) would not stop this had there been references to the Koran...Islam is a Trojan Horse...and our Warriors are being bamboozled into defying American Judea/Christian ethics and beliefs. Shame on all faiths for not standing up to this scandalous anti-religious front.

But they do have the authority to keep their property free from graffiti.

Political Correctness is the path of destruction for the United States. How about asking what part PC played in the bombing in Boston. FBI, very limited in what they can do when it comes to a Muzzie. A close look at what exactly happened in the investigation of the elder brother.

I guess we can’t upset the jihadis when another “unguarded warehouse” becomes pilfered somewhere in the middle east.

did the soldiers remind hteir superior officers that our constitution guaruntees freedom FROM religious persectuion and that the right to freely express religious affiliation shall NOT be infringed?

Hopefully not, as they would look like ignorant fools. These scopes are government property and the government can do what they please with them. The government generally specifies exactly what markings are made on equipment that they buy, but clearly someone was not paying attention.

There are lots of religious freedom issues out there that are worth fighting for. This is not one of them.

I’m thinking of the sniper in Saving Private Ryan and wonder which scriptures he was saying..

Well, his German sniper opponent had a belt buckle with a motto on it: GOTT MITT UNS. How well did that work out for him?

“Beliefs belong in church, not in Army scopes.” This statement is absurd! Beliefs affect every aspect of life. Your beliefs are where you are at all times. The above quote is only valid if one never exits a church building.

It’s not graffiti. It’s put there by the manufacturer. If the Army doesn’t want it the let them say so on the Purchase Order.

My goodness, and my fortress; my high tower, and my deliverer;
my shield, and he in whom I trust; who subdueth my people under me."

Hope Trijicom voids all the scope warranties due to tampering .

Trijicon was founded by Glyn Bindon, an immigrant from South Africa who started out as a hydraulic engineer. The bible verses they are eradicating are encrypted within a string of small raised lettering hidden between the base and the tube of the scope - virtually invisible. It was Glyn’s little hidden act of faith and most people never saw it or caught its meaning when they did.

The ACOG is a superb, rugged combat optic, so if our government wants to imbecilic, it can grind off the code without ruining the scope. I am just amazed that we have come to this point.

Do you possibly mean the deranged John Brennan, our present Director Of CIA? Rumor is that he converted to mohammadism while in saudi arabia.

Next, service members will be ordered to remove all Bibles from base. No Bibles on base in private residences or dorms. Mark my words.

Beliefs belong in church, not in Army rifle scopes.

Beliefs reside in the heart and mind. How are you going to scrub those?

“Beliefs belong in church, not in Army rifle scopes.”

They are references made by the manufacturer. Just because something is religious in nature doesn’t mean it should have any more or less protection than any other words. Here we have a Bible references getting stricter treatment than other words on the device.

“But they do have the authority to keep their property free from graffiti.”

You obviously haven’t a clue what this is about. The MANUFACTURER places these marking on their devices and in full knowledge of the purchasing agents and buyers of the military.

Gov’t owned scopes, not personally owned so the gov’t can do with them as they please.
