That it is illegitimate to criticize Islam because it has political attributes. So does Judeo-Christianity. For the article to argue as much is to buy into the perfidy that is "separation of church and state." The people of the several States have every right to pass local laws respecting the exercise of their faith in any religion except Islam. This is a legitimate argument as to why:

Islamists comprise a cult advocating conversion by violence, not persuasion by example as is Judeo-Christianity. Islamists have no intent of respecting the laws of the nation or the free exercise of any other religion; they believe that Sharia supersedes any other laws. They are therefore not participants in the social contract that is the Constitution and undeserving of its protections.
