The National Guard would have just gotten in the way, and destroyed evidence.

They do not have expertise in criminal investigations.

If they had been needed I am sure they would have been asked for.

Bad enough that Police Officers invaded the homes of Boston residents without National Guard going out and doing it.

“The National Guard would have just gotten in the way, and destroyed evidence.”

Not true in this case. Civil Support Teams (CSTs) are HIGHLY TRAINED to not only assess potential WMD situations, they are also highly trained in forensic evidence collection...for possible latter prosecutions.

There use would have been appropriate. Also, I emphasize that a CST is Title 32 (state) not Title 10 (Federal). They would not have been breaking ANY laws in regards to using military for law enforcement. Plus, CSTs aren’t traditional armed forces. They are WMD specialists.

Every police officer and attorney should know it is priority one to assist the wounded, evidence be damned.

Once the wounded are helped and the scene secure from other threats, then crime scene maintenance and inspection becomes important.
